1-7th December Weekly Bog Post

This is a weekly update.

At the start of the week I took a picture of the outside of my house because I really liked the look of it.

The fact that it was icy with completely dry patches where cars where overnight, seems really cool and gives me vibes like as a game progresses, the map around starts to change as well.

Love that in certain games, you get objects in houses that are animated to move around which I really like about Graphic Designers and how they build and animated loads of stuff in games to then have that game to be really detailed but has a lot of space.

The concept of tiny details being added is very cool.

I really like minute details in games as it adds to that sense of hardship and dedication it must have taken to make something so small but in large quantities. I shows much perseverance and I absolutely love it.

On monday we started doing Photoshop. We started by collecting animals pictures and then going over them with shapes and trying to simply put them on making it a simple yet effective picture.

My first was this pig.

It was a very nicely done picture. I really like the ear on the left as I used a curve tool to make the triangle curve on the edges.

I used a fill tool to fill in the shapes which led to the completion on the pig.

I did many more of these:

We then moved onto shaping out a lighthouse of Scarborough Bay. This one took the most time but looked the best.

I used many shapes for this.

I had to make many layers and name them all which took a fair amount of time. The stairs took the most amount of time because I had to make the square shift a bit to make it look like its going downwards. I finished the piece but decided to add last minute details such as, the reflections in the water, and the extra boat stuff.

We then moved onto line drawings.

My first project was Hagrid from Harry Potter.

Its safe to say, it didn't go very well at first.

I used the opacity to make Hagrid transparent, but not enough to make him disappear, more like made him see through. This was enough for me to go around the edges of his character and trace him to be the drawing above.

I then moved onto Minecraft Herobrine, Which was the easiest out of all the line drawings I did.
We were then told to do one but colour it in.

To do this, I made another layer beneath the drawing and then paint within the lines of the drawing. It was quick and easy. Although it doesn't look too great, it was the best one with colour.

I then did one more with a 2D character, Toji Fushiguro. It was by far the hardest to outline as the chest was a black area which made it hard to trace the shape on the chest. But it came out amazing and I am proud of it.

I then moved onto Cthulhu by H.P Lovecraft.
This one I did not have enough time to do as I ran out on Thursday. But it looks like it is coming along really nicely.
